Lookingglass Rural Fire District is asking the Lookingglass community to come out and support us during the 2026 Challenge of the Heroes on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

The Challenge of the Heroes brings together firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS professionals, restaurants, and local businesses from across Douglas County for a friendly competition benefiting Douglas County Child Abuse Prevention Initiatives.

This year, LRFD is teaming up with Lookingglass Brewery in Winston, and we need your help to beat the other participating teams and restaurants.

Bring your family and friends, enjoy the evening, and help us show just how strongly the Lookingglass community supports its local fire district.

Teams and businesses from Glide, Myrtle Creek, Roseburg, Sutherlin, and Winston will all be competing, so we have plenty of competition. We would love to see Lookingglass Brewery packed with LRFD supporters helping us take the win.

While the competition adds some fun to the evening, the real purpose is much bigger. Funds raised through the event help support programs focused on preventing child abuse and supporting children and families throughout Douglas County.
