Lookingglass Rural Fire District Donation Guide

Thank you for your interest in supporting the Lookingglass Rural Fire District! Your donations help us better serve the community by providing essential resources and training. Here’s how you can contribute and make a meaningful impact. Every donation will be appreciated and we are more than happy to give a donation tax slip for you.

VEHICLE DONATIONS

Donating vehicles is a tremendous help for our extrication training. This allows firefighters to practice using specialized equipment to safely remove individuals from wrecked vehicles, preparing them for real-life emergencies.

Vehicle Donation Process:

1. Title Requirement: Please ensure the vehicle title is in your name. Upon donation, you will receive a tax donation slip as acknowledgment.
2. Scheduling an Evaluation: Contact us to arrange a time for us to come inspect the vehicle and confirm it meets our training needs.
3. Transport Arrangements: Once we verify that we can utilize the vehicle, we will work out a way to have it transported to our station.

MATERIAL DONATIONS

Lumber: Lumber donations are invaluable for training setups, facility updates, and constructing supportive training props. This includes treated wood, plywood, and framing lumber in good condition.

Roofing Materials: Donations of roofing materials, such as shingles or tarpaper aid in training simulations. Both full bundles and surplus materials are welcome.

LABOR DONATIONS

Skilled labor is often needed to keep our facilities in top condition and ensure our training setups are safe and effective. If you have skills in construction, plumbing, electrical work, or general labor, please reach out to volunteer your expertise.

MONETARY DONATIONS

Monetary contributions help us cover operational costs, purchase necessary equipment, and maintain our training programs. Donations of any amount are deeply appreciated and can be made by check or directly at our station please call ahead to ensure someone is here in order to accept your donation.

SNACK AND WATER DONATIONS

Long calls can keep our firefighters out for extended periods. Donations of bottled water and non-perishable snacks (such as granola bars, trail mix, and crackers) provide quick, easy sustenance to keep them energized and ready.

EQUIPMENT DONATIONS

We’re always in need of quality  tools, and equipment. This includes items like hand tools, heavy equipment to move props or dug holes or trenches for prop construction. If you have any equipment in good condition that may be of use, please contact us to discuss our current needs.

HOW TO DONATE

For all donations, please contact us at 541-580-6130 or email captain@lookingglassfire.org to arrange a time for drop-off or pick-up. We are happy to discuss specific needs, coordinate transportation, and provide acknowledgment of your contribution for tax purposes.
