Fire Danger Level Increases to HIGH

DFPA News Release
The Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA) has announced that, due to forecasted above-normal temperatures, lower humidity, and reduced overnight moisture recovery, the fire danger level across the Douglas District will rise to HIGH.
This change will take effect beginning Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 12:01 a.m.. Public Use Restrictions (PURs) will also increase to HIGH on all private, county, state, and Bureau of Indian Affairs lands within the district. These restrictions are designed to reduce wildfire risk and help protect our community.
What This Means for the Public
- Non-industrial activities such as power saw use, cutting, grinding, welding of metal, mowing or trimming dried/cured grass, and the use of power-driven machinery for property improvement will only be permitted before 10:00 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m.
Industrial Operations
- At this time, there are no changes to Industrial Fire Precaution Levels (IFPL). The Douglas District will remain at IFPL 2.
