Fire Danger Level Reduced to HIGH

Fire season in effect for Douglas District, 2025. Public use restriction: High. IFPL: Level 3.

Effective Date: Friday, August 15, 2025 – 12:01 a.m.
Source: Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA)
Coverage Area: All private, county, state, and Bureau of Indian Affairs lands within the Douglas District

The Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA) has announced that the fire danger level will be lowered from EXTREME to HIGH. This change is based on forecasted decreases in temperature, increases in relative humidity, and improved overnight moisture recovery.

While this adjustment allows for fewer restrictions, fire season remains in effect. The expected rainfall over the weekend will not eliminate fire risk.
