Lookingglass Rural Fire District (LRFD) is pleased to announce that it has received a pallet of emergency drinking water through the Anheuser-Busch Emergency Drinking Water for Wildland Firefighters Program, made possible in partnership with the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) and delivered by A-B Wholesale, Anheuser-Busch's local wholesaler.

The donation provides more than 2,300 cans of emergency drinking water that will be used to help keep LRFD firefighters hydrated while responding to wildland fires, extended emergency incidents, training exercises, and other emergencies throughout the 2026 fire season.

As a volunteer fire department serving approximately 160 square miles of Douglas County, LRFD responds to a wide variety of emergencies, including wildland fires, medical emergencies, motor vehicle crashes, and structure fires. With firefighters often operating for extended periods in extreme temperatures, proper hydration is essential to maintaining their health, safety, and operational effectiveness.

"Firefighters regularly work in challenging conditions where dehydration can quickly become a safety concern," said Assistant Chief Justin Fox. "This generous donation helps ensure our volunteers have access to clean drinking water during incidents and training, allowing them to remain healthy, focused, and ready to serve our community. We are sincerely grateful to Anheuser-Busch, the National Volunteer Fire Council, and especially our local wholesaler, A-B Wholesale, for their continued support of volunteer fire departments."

The emergency drinking water is part of Anheuser-Busch's longstanding commitment to disaster preparedness and emergency response. Through its partnership with the National Volunteer Fire Council, the program has delivered millions of cans of emergency drinking water to volunteer fire departments across the United States, helping protect firefighters during wildfire season and other emergency operations.
