Lookingglass Rural Fire District volunteer John Cota has once again answered the call, deploying to the Fielder Mountain Fire as a Line EMT.

In this role, John will provide emergency medical support to firefighters and other personnel working on the fireline. Line EMTs are an important part of wildland fire operations, helping ensure that medical care is available to crews operating in remote and challenging environments where access to traditional EMS resources may be limited.

This is another deployment for John during the 2026 fire season and reflects his continued commitment to supporting emergency operations beyond the Lookingglass community when additional resources are needed.

Deployments such as these also provide valuable experience that our members can bring back to LRFD, strengthening our department's readiness, knowledge, and ability to serve our own community.

Lookingglass Rural Fire District appreciates John's continued dedication and willingness to serve. We ask our community to join us in wishing him a safe deployment, a successful assignment, and a quick return home.
