Pre-Season Fire Community Forum

Community forum on fire safety hosted by Lookingglass Rural Fire District, May 23, 2026, at Lookingglass Grange, Oregon.

Lookingglass Rural Fire District invites community members to attend the Pre-Season Fire Community Forum prior to the start of wildfire season. This event is intended to provide residents with an opportunity to meet and speak directly with local fire and emergency service partners in an informal community setting focused on preparedness, communication, and community safety.

Event Information

  • Date: Saturday, May 23, 2026
  • Time: 1:00 PM
  • Location: Lookingglass Grange
    7426 Lookingglass Road
    Roseburg, Oregon

Representatives from Lookingglass Rural Fire District, Douglas County Emergency Management, Douglas County Search & Rescue, and Douglas Forest Protective Association will be available to answer questions, share information, and discuss how residents can better prepare for wildfire season and other emergencies impacting the Lookingglass area.

This forum is not intended to be a formal presentation. Instead, it is designed to be an open information-sharing and Q&A session where community members can speak directly with local emergency service partners, ask questions, discuss concerns, and better understand how agencies work together to help protect the Lookingglass community.

Topics of discussion may include:

  • Defensible space and home preparation
  • Evacuation planning and readiness
  • Public use restrictions and fire danger levels
  • Emergency notifications and communication systems
  • Wildfire response operations
  • Emergency medical response in rural communities
  • Search and rescue operations
  • Community preparedness and situational awareness

We want to hear what questions community members may have regarding emergency management, wildfire season, and public safety within the Lookingglass area. Residents are encouraged to comment on the event announcement or contact LRFD directly with any questions, concerns, or topics they would like addressed during the forum.

The goal of this event is to provide accurate information, improve community preparedness, and strengthen communication between residents and local emergency response agencies before fire season begins.

The forum will be recorded and later posted on the Lookingglass Rural Fire District website for community members unable to attend in person.

Be Informed. Be Prepared. Be Firewise.
Working together for a safer community.
